I have been shopping around for the past few weeks for a Surface 4.

    I picked up the i5 , 128gb model a keyboard model for €899.

Microsoft themselves currently have it on offer at the moment for €1146, so a significant deal from Komplett. Bricks and morter shops are even more expensive.

There are even bigger saving to be had on higher spec models. The come with a feree wireless adaptor too.

Just a point on this I picked up the Surface 3 in PC World/Curry's for €379 yesterday. It's the 128GB and 4GB Ram version.

Great cheaper option for those who can't afford the Surface 4.

Would not buy anything with PC World/Curry's. Their warranty policy is unacceptable. If your Surface 3 break in 6-7 months and there will be no fix or replacement for new one, they will not give you your money back - just ask you to spend this €379 on something else in their shop.

Just to let people know, that there is quite a bit of difference compared to a Surface 3, and a Surface Pro 3, and of course Surface Pro 4. The non-Pro model comes with an Atom processor I believe, and is much less powerful when compared to the Pro versions.

The Surface Pro 4 is a fantastic device, but it's definitely something you should go to a shop and try out. I've had one for a few days, and I wanted to like it so badly, but I just couldn't get over the form factor, and always just wanted a proper keyboard for typing.

We can cross that bridge if it comes to it. If they won't comply with the Sale of Goods Act you can always go to the Small Claims Court if necessary.

Ok a bargain in terms of a surface but if you look at what that money would buy in terms of a laptop

If you are going the size and portability route even then there are cheaper and more functional options at a fraction of the price.

Actually I would disagree with this totally. The wife got a Toshiba Touch Screen 11" Laptop there a couple of years ago that gave nothing but grief, she persisted and eventually (after six months) got them to swap it for a higher priced Lenovo at no extra cost. Now she kept at them like a rabid pitbull but they did give in and sort her out.

You won't need to. Microsoft honor the warranty themselves. Ie call their support and they will get it sorted for you. Repair or replace no bothers for you. And it's a 2 year warranty!

If you want your money back though good luck to you

I see that. It appears to have gone back up.

Still cheaper than microsoft direct though.

Microsoft are rumored to be announcing the Pro 5 next month. That should see a price drop on the Pro 4 so hold off for a while, if you can.

I've a wife like that; comes in very handy at times. Builders, tradesmen, customer service agents, you name it. All I've to say is "hang on, I'll let you deal with herself" and BANG! All resistance is gone... ;)
