    Hi All,

i have learned recently, that i am entitled to claim for rent allowance.

    My only issue is:
I dont have the contact details from my last landlady anymore. Also i dont think i saved a copy of our rental agreement.

How can i proceed further to claim for the rented years?
I understand i need her details and PPS number? Or can i simply provide the address/name and the tax office follows this through?

    Thanks all!

Do you mean a tax refund for paying rent, or rent allowance as you were unemployed?

    When did you start renting?

Provided you really are eligible, then just provide as much information as you have. Don't stress about not having the PPS.

Rent tax credit is only applicable to those renting before December 2010 - rent 1 form does not require the landlord/landladies PPSN only address you lived in for each year and how much is paid. If you do not already have rent tax credit on record for 2010,2011 and 2012 revenue will contact you requesting these details.

I would suggest sending in a rent 1 for 2010-present inclusively to avoid any undue time wasting and to process the claim quickly.

You will not receive a refund for 2010 and 2011 however, but its necissary to have the info.

Thanks a lot for the information.
I started renting in March 2010.
I do not recall that they have contacted me to request those details tho.

I suppose i will find this form at the revenue page online?
