Hi, no judgments please, just looking for some insight

I was involved in a crash in December 2014 and had no insurance on the car at the time.

The Garda told me I'd be getting a summons for court.

I haven't received one to date. Is there a time limit on when it can be given to me?

No, there is no time limit.

The only way to find out whether there is a summons on its way to you is by asking the Gardaí but you need to be aware of the risk that such an action could prompt them into action.

Moderator: some comments containing incorrect information deleted.

For clarity, AGS have 6 months from the date of the offence within which to obtain a summons. They can sit on that summons for as long as they like thereafter, the above delay point excepted.
