I would recommend this film to anybody, it's basically about a great musician who was popular in the 1970s, but for some reason disappeared into obscurity only to be found over 30 years later and launched back into stardom.

The film is wonderful and has a great soundtrack and would recommend for sure.

Not seen it yet, despite having a copy for the last couple of years. Been a fan of his music though for last ten or so years, heard Sugarman on a mix cd someone gave me and then started listening to Sixto....amazing musician!

Yes, great film. Very uplifting. I saw it in the cinema and then, surprisingly, found the DVD and a music CD in my local library for repeated enjoyment.

There was some criticicm that the film failed to mention that Rodrizuez did a couple of tours in Oz when he was supposedly long-lost and forgotten and his music career abandoned. He toured again after the success of the film and played Dublin.
