If you are unhappy in your course in the first couple of weeks in first year you might be able to transfer to another course in the same college, but is there any way to transfer to a different university?

    The UL website says:
"An applicant wishing to transfer from another third level institution may apply for entry to any of the University’s programmes if:

    (a) The applicant already holds a HETAC Higher Certificate (Level 6) or a Bachelor (Ordinary) Degree (Level 7) with Merit or Distinction, or equivalent. Such candidates will be considered for entry to year two and year three, respectively, on to an appropriate Bachelor (Honours) degree course with established transfer pathways. Further details are available from the Admissions Office.
    (b) The applicant is currently studying or has
completed a Bachelor (Honours) (Level 8) awarded by an Irish University or HETAC or equivalent
    Selection and Assessment

Each transfer applicant is considered on an individual basis based on the content of their previous higher education studies and its sufficiency to merit exemption to the first and second year of the programme to which they are seeking admission. In some cases an interview may be part of the selection process."

If you're looking to transfer to first year of another course then you have to meet the minimum entry requirements and points for that course.
