New parts for upgrade.....

Hello all,

Its time for a upgrade to my main PC, its getting old in the tooth.

Current set up is a QX9650 and a p5Q Deluxe with 4gb of ram. They have served me well but its time to move on.

What I am keeping from my current set up is:
Case: Antec p180
PSU: Corsair CMX 500W
GFX: r9 270 OC (Thinking of upgrading to a Nvidia 1070 soon)
Monitor: 3 X 23" IPS 1080p
SSD: Samsung 850 Pro 256Gb (would like to upgrade to m.2 at some stage)
Cooling: Noctua NF-N12PWM x4 (I would like to keep my CPU cooler, how do I fit a socket 775 to 1151?)

I dont really game, once in a blue moon. I do a lot of photoshop work and some video editing at 4k.

Make sure to buy ddr4 ram if you're getting a ddr4 board. Perhaps a xeon might be a nice upgrade?

Yes, Sorry, I dont know how the DDR3 popped in there.... this is the ram I was looking at:

If you're not gaming but doing a lot of editing, get a 6700K (the non k 6700 is cheaper but the K has a faster base clock even if not overclocking). No GPU upgrade required. If you've lasted this long with a QX9650, you're no stranger to investing for the long haul
