    Hey,
Put the car through the NCT today (failed on little bits, wire hanging out etc) but at the advice counter he also mentioned my brake lines had surface rust on them.
Just wondering has anyone fixed it themselves by sanding it off? Kinda don't wanna bring it to a garage if I can do it myself.

    Thanks :D

You would have to give them a light rub with a wire brush to see how bad it is. Ideally you would need a car lift to make the job alot faster . If it's only surface rust a rub of wire brushould and a coat of dinotrol rust convertor and a coat of wax oil after should see you sorTed. On a lift that would take an hour. On the ground using jacks and axle stands, hours.

I know the test centre in Fonthill & Greenhills Road will both fail brake pipes coated in paint or underseal if it has been a previous fail item. Replacement of the metal pipes are the only acceptable repair.
