Does it attach to the headtube and if so would you need much clearance?
I have seen another one of those bobikes out and about. They seem to be a Dutch company.

    Fairly cheap too at €45.

Ya I read that. As I have a kid in the rear one I would need space on the top tube to mount and dismount so not sure if the wee rider would be suitable.

There cheap on that site plenty of places selling for much higher ;) I mounted it to the handlebar stem. Here's the manual https://bobike.com/files/contentfiles/Bobike_mini_exclusive.pdf

Is the handlebar stem taking all the weight?

No problem so far, it's on a hybrid bike that just use when out with the kids.

If you're looking for a really cheap solution, I saw someone on Parnell Street this week cycling while holding a toddler on his hip. I can think of a few problems with the ergonomics of this, though.

i used to use have a weeride on front and normal kids seat on back , no problems with knees .
hardest part is loading/unloading kids safely . fitted my sons upto about 4.5 max .
we regularly done cycles from 5k to 15k no issues

I put on a prop stand to hold the bike up. It makes it very handy to get the kid on and off and very useful for stopoffs along the way. Not sure if it would be strong enough to hold 2 kids though.

    Hi all,
Hope its ok to resurrect this thread.
Planning on getting back cycling and bringing my 1-year old to creche.

Went to a bike shop at the weekend to get advice and the guy said that there would be huge difficulty getting a front child seat for my bike - I have a specialised cirrus elite 2012

    Would appreciate any advice?

I had the same for 2 years, then the older kid rode his own 14" bike to school.

I loved the weeride. I could chat to my child and the centre of gravity was much better than when the rear seat was there. My knees were a little spread but you quickly get used to it. I have clipless SPDs and the float was enough to allow me to still be clicked in.
