Hi,finding it really hard to get someone level a floor for me. Need new laminate down but old porch floor needs joining up to hall.
Is it easy to do yourself?

    What's the height difference?.

Hi, I'd say it's about two inches, if even. Hard to tell at moment as there's an old door saddle and laminate and thick granite tiles there, with laminate on other side.

I'd suggest screwing battens to the floor and screwing 3/4" plywood on top, use whatever is nearest or less in thickness and make up the difference in height with shims under the battens.

    Can you post a pic?

Easy enough to do with levelling compound.

That's why I asked for a pic. If it's a porch (how big??) then a couple of layers would do it. Alternatively a cement base with compound on top.

I raised my whole kitchen 15mm with it before tiling to match the wood floor.

Laminate is an 8mm balterio from what i can see, 8mm trim to the saddle and most likely a 2mm underlay. So you need to make up close to 20 mm. New laminate in the porch would require at the min a 2mm underlay, so you need to make up 5mm, which is a trim exactly like you have already.

Depends on how exact you want it, but getting it flush will require ply, these days it may take time, but exact matching trims are available for most decent laminates.
