ECU replacement

I've a 2007 renault trafic, mechanic says the ecu is fried, has anyone replaced one, is it worth doing ?? Or will it most likely fry again?
Its scrap at the moment !!

What were the symptoms before you brought the van to the mechanic?

It died on the motorway, light came on to say major injection fault .. restarted (without fault lights coming back on) and would run for a couple of seconds... . Restarted next day, drove off motorway ... parked and stopped .never restarted since...
I thought there was a major sucking sound when the fuel filler cap opened ... (??)
Initally fuel filter changed .. no difference ....

Probably gonna scrap it.
Just dont want to scrap and next week hear " oh you should have gone to x,he'd have sorted it no prob "

I would try a different mechanic. Sounds like a fueling issue to be honest.

Thats what I thought... but when he couldnt get the bloody thing to start
, I think he went delving further... he has a good rep... (but I think he had it during a busy time )
