Time for some Cinemax casual action violence with their new show set in the 1970's it has a hard job to follow up with Strike Back and Banshee but here's hoping it's just as fun it starts tonight Stateside.

“Quarry” tells the story of Mac Conway, played by Logan Marshall-Green, a Marine who returns home to Memphis from Vietnam in 1972 and finds himself shunned by those he loves and demonized by the public. As he struggles to cope with his experiences at war, Conway is drawn into a network of killing and corruption that spans the length of the Mississippi River.

Looks great, and will be a welcome follow up to the absence of Banshee, though it does look a lot more grounded.

Great opening episode, really liking it-
very unfortunate for his partner to go like he did, didnt expect him to get shot, but the way Quarry bounced in to the apartment and killed your man was brilliant. Surprised the one legged dude didnt shoot him.

The scene in the quarry when the gun is shot out of his hand, was very cool

Seems excellent show from the brilliant banshee team.. Looking forward to see which way they go with this

Interesting pilot. I do hope there's more to it than drive here, shoot him, repeat.

The end scene with him getting the record back and looking at his wife without saying anything while he puffed on a cigarette was a really bad ass moment.

I'll definitely stick with it. :)

He was in the O.C. if you were wondering!

Yes I seen him in Dark Blue, Devil and Prometheus, but he looks like a skinner Tom Hardy :p

Absolutely incredible opening episode! In no way comparable to Cinemax's other big hits, Strike Back and Banshee (which are excellent in their own right) - a more intelligent, grounded drama with excellent performances and enough story in the first episode that you're guaranteed to stick with the full season.

Just 10 minutes in. Love already the cinemax feel of it.

And I'm nit picking here but would a marine have that hair, sideburns and a porn moustache ?

Marines are short back and sides and clean shaven.

As I said, nit picking. Looks promising.

Really enjoyed the second episode. Up until the point where they went for the meeting about the guns, I was thinking to myself, "there's not an awful lot of violence so fa... oh crap, he's just stabbed the absolute crap out of that guy and shot at a guy point blank".

Loved the camera angle during the brief car chase. Really well done.

Looks like a really great show.

Not sure what to make of it. Kinda feels like Banshee in the 70's only a lot less fun? And with a very, very generic plot.

Feels like we've seen the main character and his wife far too many times before.

It's well made, and the violence and women make it really watchable but I don't think it's anything special so far.

I think it's shaping up to be one of the best things on TV at the moment. The acting is terrific and everything about it is entirely compelling. Whether or not it can keep momemtum going we'll see, but so far, very impressed.

The acting in this show is absolutely incredible. I love the grit of it and the close up shots really make the surroundings feel so stifled. I love it and like the direction it's going in. Fantastic stuff.

Brilliant show. I'd be actually upset if it does't get a second season, excellnt stuff. Top class acing, gritty, violent and unpredictable. If you like gritty crime drama ala 90's style crime/mafia/thriller, it would be right up your street!

Loved the nod to Banshee in latest episode with the newspaper article on Sugar Bates winning the boxing title.

Amazing finale. The Vietnam flashbacks, without compromising the plot, were intense and incredibly well put together, very reminiscint of Platoon.

Such a fantastic season, would be criminal for it to be cancelled.

It really rounded it up nicely, I'd have to watch that last one again.
