    Hi Folks, Looking at one of these for my sons first car.
    Its got just over 100K miles. Hav'nt driven it yet but car looks great. Timing chain recently done and head gasket.
    Dealer is pricing it at 4,500.
    What should i expect to get it for if everything stacks up?

    You should look for tangible evidence that the timing chain has indeed been replaced because it is a massive weak spot for those engines and the 1.0/1.2.

    €4.5k isn't particularly a bargain for a 06 Astra either. I presume it comes with the most basic of warranty too? Is it a 3 door?

    €4,500 for a 10 year old Astra is not cheap. I'm guessing the dealer is looking for his money back on fixing the head gasket and timing chain work. Also don't rely too much on a warranty from a dealer on a 10 year old car, it's not going to be worth much.

    Closer to three grand really; but obviously he won't entertain anything like that.
