Irish Citizenship Eligibility

Hi everyone,

Need a bit of a help here. I am a Brazilian National living and working in Ireland for over 10 years. My visa status from my arrival in Dec/2005 till Nov/2011 was as a student (stamp 2). From Nov/2011 up to now I hold a stamp4 visa due a partnership with my then girlfriend (Polish National). I would like to know if i am eligible for Irish Citizenship. Could anyone help me on this issue? Thanks.

Your stamp 2 permission is ignored. Only your permission from November 2011 counts. You need 1 year prior to application plus 4 years in the previous 8 years do 5 in total.

If by "then girlfriend" you mean you have now split up, then your stamp 4 may no longer be valid. You should see a solicitor.
