Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I have an old Cooper water tank that I'm thinkin about jigging up to make wine in.

Has anyone ever tried similar or have ye all avoided this prison hooch style approach in favour of glass and plastic.

Do you mean copper? I wouldn't risk it. Food-grade plastic isn't expensive.

    I meant Copper.

Funnily enough my misspelling was related to making alcohol as well.

Copper is used without problem in Spirit distillation and beer making.

As far as I know there is no health implications from copper but my query is that it may impart a taste on the end product.

I'll probably still do with it because the modifying it to work is as appealing as making anything in it.

Thanks for your response though. I got a Beer kit from Home Brew West and delighted with it.

It isn't, not much to lose. It is a country wine I'm making.

If I go temporarily blind I'll put up an update on the dangers of using a Copper tank.

They run product through it but I've never seen anyone ferment or mature a product in a copper-lined vessel.

    That would be my concern.
