Just a quick one lads. If a player was to get a straight red card in a club game which carried an automatic 1 game ban. In the subsequent championship game then which is run on a group basis his club gets a walkover from a team that had nothing to play for. His club are awarded 2 points for the game and a score difference of x amount. Does the suspension for the player carry to the next game or will the walkover cover it?

    Thanks for your help.

thats a very interesting one, and one that hinders the suspended player as it isnt his fault the opposing team does not field.

    The GAA ruling is:

    Next Game in Competition
    (c) A walk-over shall not constitute the next game in a competition.

if a player gets a red card in a intermidate final. and go onto win
is the one game ban in next year's senior championship.
    or in aib club championship.

Another disciplinary question lads. Player of ours got a red card for pulling a facemask in a hurling League match. Looked harmless enough to be honest but absolute idiocy at the same time. What suspension does this carry.

2nd part of question then does it apply to the league competition and will he be able to play in championship or is it both competitions?

Any feedback would be gratefully appreciated?

You can only serve a suspension in the competition you were red carded in.
