External condensing boiler fitting regulations

Are there any regulations or best practices stipulating how external condensing oil boilers should be fitted that are available to the public?
E.g. things such as minimum or maximum distance from the house that's being heated?
Or if fitted near or next to a wall that the wall has to be a firewall? If so does a structural wall pass as a firewall?

I'm considering having the boiler fitted about 2 to 2.5 meters away from our house, up next to a dividing wall between our house & the neighbour's house (this dividing wall is adjoined to a structural wall of the neighbour's house). Assuming that would be ok location wise?

There are loads of regulations governing some of your queries. I don't know them off the top of my head. Your installer will be able to advise you, as he will have to (if like me, only fitting one ever now and then) read up on the regs. If he is installing regularly, he will know that off the top of his head.

You will get some more info from manufacturers websites, ie Firebird, Grant or Warmflow. They will have PDF's that will go some way to answering your questions.

Please follow site and charter rules. "Resistance is futile"

Good Oil installers will always follow building regs, the Oftec standards and manufacturer's instructions for their installations. These set out how and where the boiler and oil tank, as well as fuel lines and flues can be located.
Its best if your installer is Oftec registered or at very least has completed Oftec training.
