Sky1 is adding to their burgeoning original drama slate with Hooten & The Lady, an eight episode action-adventure drama series starring Michael Landes (CSI) and Ophelia Lovibond (Elementary) which hails from Death In Paradise creator Tony Jordan and his indie Red Planet Pictures.Hooten & The Lady is in a similar vein to Indiana Jones and Relic Hunter and tells the story of adventurer Hooten whot teams up with Lady Alexandra Lindo-Parker from the British Museum to track down fabled treasures from the past, including the lost Amazonian golden city of Z, the Buddha’s missing scroll and the lost tomb of Alexander the Great. Michael Landes will play male lead Hooten, while Ophelia Lovibond has been cast as Lady Alexandra.
The drama series has been in development at Sky for the better part of two-years and was created by a writing team that includes Tony Jordan, James Payne, Sarah Phelps, Jeff Povey and Richard Zajdlic. Red Planet Pictures are producing with Tony Jordan, Simon Winstone and Cameron Roach serving as the executive producers. Tony Jordan also serves as the showrunner, while Colin Teague is the lead director. Filming is set to commence next month in Rome.
“Hooten & The Lady is gloriously ambitious and perfectly poised to take its place amongst the impressive line up for an exciting year ahead of brand-new drama and comedy for Sky”, said Sky1 Director Adam MacDonald. “We are delighted to be working with Tony and his team to bring this wonderful new drama to Sky1. Hooten & The Lady will be a major highlight of next year’s summer schedule and a real treat to delight and entertain drama lovers and the whole family.”

So is Landes who seems to be around forever and who looks like he could be George Clooney's younger bro :P

It looks like a TV series version of the Uncharted games.

Which is the video game version of Indiana Jones which was inspired by Allan Quatermain stories there nothing bloody original these days :)

But it does look fun from the trailers I've seen over the last while.

I prefer the spin-off series about the rock band, Hooten And The Blowfish.

    I'll see myself out.

Posh British bird and handsome rugged American who cannot stand each other (because they fancy each other).

    Already been done.

To be fair, this does have more exotic backdrops going on. :)

Ah, but the makers have stated categorically that the pair of them will not be getting it on at any point:
"I think it's lazy to have a male and a female and just do, 'When will they shag?' We've seen it, hundreds of times.

"Alex and Hooten have a very different bond – they want to spend time together, but it doesn't have to be that they want to get into each other's pants."

I found the pilot very average and full of cliches that just didn't work.

The chemistry between the leads seems very forced as well.

The soundtrack music is horrendous, but I thought I could ignore it. I lasted until the point where she talked about a Victorian explorer from 1925. Seriously, writers, you can't even tell between historical eras? Buh-bye.

Yes, except this time around, there's no Irish hotel manager as comic relief.
