    Hi,
I am semi-retired and am about to buy a new car. Does it matter whether I tell them I am retired or working as an Architect, both statements would be true?

Since you are even asking I think you know you won't get away with "retired" when you are only "semi-retired" ;)

If there is an accident you bet they will look for any excuse to shaft you so don't give them anything they can use against you.

Insurers have duel title for occupation

Retired/ unemployed and prior/current job if still dabbling in architecture for example.. Explain your mileage use has decreased from X to Z if it has.

If you declare only retired then the class of use you'll be provided with is S,D&C

You'll need S,D&P & C(commuting to work) if still working.

Thanks for that advice, cplwhisper, I think I will do that.
