    Hi, Staying in Trieste for 2 nights next week and looking for somewhere different to stay, doesn't have to be expensive just nice. Any personal recommendations? Also, whats to see and do there?

    Miramare Castle and gardens is a nice spot, a few minutes outside town.

    James Joyce lived in Trieste and the local tourist office will give you a pamphlet with information on about 25 locations in the city associated with him, places he lived in etc.. However it takes a bit of time to visit them all.
