pinless door hinge: how to lubricate?

I am trying to fix a squeaky hinge on an internal door of a house. The web
pages I have found on this topic (e.g.
say one should begin by removing the pin.

This I've tried and failed. It doesn't seem to be possible. See the
    attached photo.

Should I just spray some lubricating oil at the top and sides and hope it
makes its way to the surfaces that need lubrication?

Drip some 3-in-one oil down the side and move the door back and forth.
