    Hi all,

I have been looking around and I have come across a few decent packages but just wondering has anyone any advise on getting a new package? i.e which provider.

Trying to get one as cheap as possible and Digiweb seem to be the cheapest but I don't know much about them. Are they good?

    Thanks in advance.
    Darren

If it's standard broadband through a phone line I'm nearly sure Vodafone is the cheapest at €40 per month.

Vodafone is the cheapest at €40 per month but have an 18 month contract.

Sky will discount to €40 per month but only for the first year but Sky have a 12 month contract.

While Digiweb do a €40/month broadband package also, they have a 350GB/month fair usage limit on their "Unlimited" plans. This package includes off-peak phone/mobile/UK calls. It has a €50 set up cost and an 18 month contract.

If you are on a LLU (local loop unbundled) enabled exchange (check your number here), they do a DSL based broadband-only package (up to 24Mbps) for €30/month and a 350GB/month cap. This package has a 12 month contract (or 6 month contract with a €49 set up fee.)

If you are not on a LLU enabled exchange and your usage is very light (minimal video streaming / gaming), they do a DSL based broadband-only package (up to 24Mbps) for €35/month, which has a 40GB/month usage cap. It doesn't mention about any set up cost, the contract length is 12 months.

I see it's free activation now with the Digiweb LLU €29.95 package.

Anybody any experiences with them? Be interested in how reliable they are and how strict they are with regards to the 350GB cap.

We have used them for a few years, found them to be very good for broadband & phone over an ADSL connection. The speed is quite slow here, but seems to be faster with Digiweb than previous providers (Imagine over ADSL (not wimax) & eircom) & our neighbours (vodafone over ADSL). Can't comment about the cap, as our speed is too slow for this to be an issue. Will pay the installation fee when we mover to ftth, to keep with them for their customer service.

I think digiweb are discontinuing the LLU package.

I got an email this morning asking me to confirm my SEPA details and new package, which I knew nothing about. I've been a customer since 2013.

After a call to customer service it looks like my package is being discontinued and everyone migrated to a new €40 package - €10 more than I'm already paying. Also they put me on a new 12 month contract! Without asking me!

Magnet have a 24mb fiber offer for €30pm no contract, I'll probably go with them.

That'll create a huge chunk of jumpering jobs if so.

Rang them again today, they said its only available in two exchanges at the moment and those will be 'gone' soon too.

    Don't really believe them tbh.
