Did ya grease it before starting, along with the obvious it helps bring attention to anything else that might be wrong in the joint before starting.

I didnt grease it no. I probably should have.
its an odd ball square tube type. Quite old. Turning out to be a dear lend

Ohhh no, ya can't become that **** in the parish.

I got a single axle trailer back once with two flat wheels, been driven flat too, two new tyres needed, he said the old tyres must have been badly perished. :(

A new pto shaft is only €100 or so.....not a bank breaker for goodwill sake..

Just got it back there lads. 40 sterling to put a new hardy spicers and yoke into it. Il try using it tonight on potato spinner. Any recommendation for revs ? I don't want the thing to break again.

It there a slip clutch anywhere on the machine. If not then it makes no difference what revs you have as its unlikely to knock out the tractor. If there is a working clutch fitted then usually the faster the better to overcome the grip of the clutch. If its a really old machine then tip away as gentle as you can...
