BBC 1 Northern Ireland this evening at 8:00pm http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b07tmnwl

A really enjoyable programme hosted by Dick Strawbridge promoting Harry Ferguson's place in Irish Aviation history.

My only criticism of the programme is that they didn't concentrate a little more on the skills aspect of the construction of the airframe. There again I'm just an engineering nerd. :D

Looking forward to next week :)

DS is a very knowledgeable guy but comes across as a bit gushy on the programme. Harry Ferguson is well known in aviation circles on both sides of the Border and the annual award for homebuilt aircraft is called the Ferguson Award, given by ILAS. He is of course known worldwide for the tractor. For me, the need for speed on the programme is cutting out a lot of detail. In fact, the boatbuilder is probably worth a programme in his own right, as is the UAS. wait and see.

Whatever. Chinese farmers have been successfully building aircraft for years.
