I've noticed over the past few weeks that my Roberts 202 isn't keeping time correctly. As I type, it's 12 minutes ahead. When it was fine it was set it update via my network and I had no issues. When I started losing time I told it to set against FM. That didn't work, so I turned off the time settings, i.e. no update. I've tried setting the time manually, but it always loses it e.g. it lost a few minutes last night and more today since I've been at work. Apart from enjoying the radio itself this is my first alarm in the morning, so it's a little too early at present. :p

I contacted Roberts who said it sounded like an internal fault. The repair quote was £44 including parts, labour and VAT. They also quoted for a FedEx collection and return, however that's out from their end as it only applies to the UK. I'm not sure what it would cost to post over. Roberts said they could take £7 off if I arranged my own postage.

Has anyone been down the repair route with an internet radio?

Did you get sorted yet.I know that updating the time via FM depends on the station you are listening to and relying their software is up to date. To be sure tune into RTE radio 1 and leave radio on for 10 mins ans see will it update time.

It sorted itself out in the end. I didn't send it for repair, so that saved a few quid. This model hasn't had a software update from Roberts since 2010, iirc.

I have a roberts streamtime radio which regularly looses contact with the server (resulting in the clock and most internet radio stations not working) this can last for anything up to a week.

Its been off for almost that long at the moment.

The power supply unit is also highly temperamental.

Anyone thinking of getting one Id say avoid and get something with bluetooth and connect it to a smartphone instead.

The reviews for that one seem negative alright.
