Will avacado stay fresh in a chilli

    Im cooking up a chilli at the moment to last me the next 3 days. Ive just chopped and avacado and was planning to add it at the end.
    Would this stay fresh in the chilli when i put it in the fridge?

    Are you mixing avocado through it? I'd normally just chop half and add on top literally before I eat it. The other half will usually last ok for a day. Unless you are covering it in lemon juice it'll go brown very quickly when chopped, and would probably be rubbery the next day anyway.

    Add your chopped avocado only a minute or two before serving, ideally in each bowl and not the pot. Do not add it in advance. Try not to even chop it in advance.

    Toss your unfortunately-already-chopped avocado in the juice of a lime and cover it very closely. If you mash it, a film of oil over the top will prevent it from browning too much in the fridge.

    My credentials: I'm a cook, I lived in Texas for fifteen years, and I worked in a Mexican restaurant in another state for two years prior even to that. I asked my Mexican sister-in-law and she said, "I don't know, I don't like avocado and your brother is allergic to them." Useless. :D
