going into second year at dcu and was awarded a grant for first year and currently waiting for my application to be fully awarded currently in final assessment. Do i still HAVE to pay the contribution fee myself when registering or can i just enter my application number? My application has been queued for almost two weeks now so should be getting awarded first week when we start.

If you got the student contribution fee paid for you by SUSI last year, then no, you don't have to pay. There's another option for payment when completing registration for people applying for grants. The amount should be something like 43 euro which is for the student levy etc.
