Couldn't see a thread on this anywhere but after having to deal with this f*ckup on Friday, I can see this turning nasty in the next few weeks.

This is quite possibly the most stupid decision to be made, anywhere, ever by whoever planned this.

You have traffic coming from eden quay round onto beresford place, lower abbey street, buses from store street and traffic from amiens street now having to sort itself into 2/3 lanes rather than 4.

On top of that, everyone having to stay out of the yellow box whilst trying to switch lanes.

Que massive tailbacks in every direction, it took me a good half an hour to get from Fairview down to Connolly station just from tailbacks. Sure you could say that it's just from people getting used to the new system but I honestly can't see how effectively taking an entire lane out of service to the public is going to help anyones situation... Sometimes the best thing to do is nothing at all and leave it well enough alone!

Anyone else had to deal with this?

Eden quay will be bus only in a year Anyway which will reduce the number of cars going that way.

Does it make things easier for buses though? Making things easier for buses at the expense of cars is our best way forward at the moment indeed it is the city's only option at the moment because Dublin doesn't have it's own ability to raise it's own revenue and we keep electing governments opposed to investing in new heavy rail. So the car commuter will be squeezed out more and more
