    Hi All,

Just a quick question. I have a 2002 E39 and the air blower in the car is not blowing. I have checked the two main fuses that are in behind the glovebox. They are fine. I have also checked the fuse bank in top of the glovebox, they too are fine.

Any other ideas as to what to check before I deal with the fact the I will have to drive to to a mechanic and get it serviced.

    Thanks

You might want to post in the general Motors forum (I presume the E39 is not a hybrid or EV)

There is no noise, when I turn on where I want the air to come out be it the windscreen I can hear the baffles opening and closing. No noise from the fan at all. Silence

That for the help. I did a bit more digging. I've checked the main fuses behind the glove box. It seems it is the final stage unit resistor that is busted. I've youtubed it it for the E39. It is just a matter of taking out the glovebox, which is easy and it is there. Undo clip remove and replace. Amazon have ones on sale with prime for £14 with free shipping as I use parcel motel. I gave the seller my chassis number to make sure I get the right part. Once I get the ok. I'll order.

Hello, if I saw this topic at that time, I would say definitely check the filter. Because dust, dirt etc. accumulated in the filter can block the engine.

You need a new thermal resister

    Something like this

    https://www.eurocarparts.com/en_ie/search/230110040?gclid=Cj0KCQiA6Or_BRC_ARIsAPzuer_sNehWAA1qg_rXqe9yq1Ukom9pwpSQnnft9daGqc2azxnR9DFtsqkaAlzyEALw_wcB

I had similar issues with an E46 and a MK3 golf. In both cars i needed a new thermal resister.

I'd say he got it at this stage.

I only noticed the 4yr thing after I posted.
I've reported it as a zombie thread.

Let the mod god's do their thing.
