TG4 HD Sound Problems

Wasn't sure where to post this so feel free to move it where appropriate.

Main issue is with the sound quality on TG4 HD, keep getting this consistent crackling sound and was just wondering if anyone else had the same problems. I thought initially it was just a problem with the Horizon box but with the launch on Sky the same problem persists.

The only time I have it on is when there's a leinster game on it . Noticed it last night (recent sky q installation) . I had assumed it was something to do with the ob equipment at the rds or some issue in the feed along the linE.

It's not just live games I've noticed it, was watching Seó Spóirt last night and again on the repeat today there was the same problem.

I have noticed the crackling sound while watching the minor hurling All Ireland final on TG4 HD on The Sky HD box.

Sounds like an issue inside TG4 if it's happening on Virgin and Sky, they do a Stereo to Surround upmix for non surround sources.
There is 1 circuit from the OB to TG4 so if there were an issue with audio, you would hear it on the Sky SD channel, saorview etc.

I've only ever had the problem with the HD channel, been no issues with the SD channel on either Saorview, Virgin or Sky.

Sorry, should have said that there are separate lines for the SD and HD channels to RTÉ.
So yeah the SD channels are ok, but I was saying if there was a sound issue on the OB, you would hear it everywhere.

Same problem for me. Sound clipping/crackling especially on sport broadcasts.

Still the same problem this evening on the rugby coverage!

How are TG4 not aware of this!!

Yeah I contacted them as well, they did reply but only asked how long I'd noticed it going on and I've heard nothing since.
