Thinking of doing driveway and back of house.
Back of house thinking cobble lock, driveway part Tarmac SMA.
The cobblelock part will be a fairly very large area, price coming in at €12,000. Anyone one there who did cobblelock recently, has cobblelock improved from years ago. I've seen cobblelock laid years ago and looks cat, has there being improvements in the sand and grout used, or am I just going to have to suffer a future of moss and weeds growing up in between the cracks, any way to prevent reduce that??? The one I got priced is Shannon, it is not the red one and not the grey one, it's like a sandy orange colour. If I'm spending 12 k and possibly more, border and circles not included in that price! I want to love it and be happy I did it, thought of Tarmac at the back but cars will be parked on this and was told for oil spills go with concrete/brick. I don't like concrete, only when the job is done really well. Anyone have any advice. Hope I have this in the right section!

All surfaces will require maintenance, the paving requiring the most tarmac/asphalt next concrete would be the easiest to maintain as you can power wash it the others just require a good sweep. As for oil spill if I was putting in a driveway of 12K regardless of finish I would be damn sure there would be no oil spills or leave an area with decorative gravel to park such vehicles. Paving has improved in quality but the jinting sand is the same there is a product Deserty ?? or there's dansand in Uk, never used them but they are supposed to be good, albeit expensive. With the normal sand you can seal with a sealer to prevent weeds and oil spills.
