Scrap Car prices!!

    Anyone scrap a car lately in the breakers or recyclers? are they making any sort of money

    Breakers prices will vary due to demand for re-usable parts from that particular model, so you'd need to give them a call.
    If it's a 'common as sh1t' model you may not be offered much.
    Recyclers on the other hand only offer the going rate for mixed scrap metal after crushing.
    I've heard that scrap prices have gone up lately, (from rock bottom) so again call down to the Deepwater Quay or the one opposite the NCT centre.

    scrap metal and cars have been bad for ages....people were getting more money for just the battery and a few certain parts...you could advertise on a site as a good for individual parts'...so persons buy cars as old as there's for just that...If you want to get rid of it, Id not be holding out for anything...just that it would be gone. good luck

    Update, the place in Deepwater Quay are paying €60 per ton for car's & I think they said around €100 a ton for alloys & batteries the phone reception was bad!! a place in Cavan offered to pick it up in Sligo & pay €50 they also offered €20 for four old car batteries, will try a few more tomorrow and report back, might be of interest to anyone looking to get shot of any old car's or scrap

    Another chap from Cavan who collects in Sligo offered €20 a ton & €4.50 each for batteries.
