Hi my husband was receiving job seekers under the casual worker scheme so he filled out dockets every week for past 18 months. However the work has dried up. How do you apply to go back on jobseekers full time until he can find work. We also have 3 kids in school and broke buying uniforms books etc have had to get loans off family as couldn't afford them. Any advice on switching back to jsa

I was in that situation before, I was employed casually but hadn't had any work in a while and they automatically switched me to full time jobseekers, I think I'd gone about 10 weeks handing in dockets with no days worked and they sent me a letter saying I'd been switched from casual to full time jobseekers. If he wants to switch sooner call in and explain the situation to them but he can just keep sending in the dockets and mark down that he hasnt worked and he will get the full payment. If he has been let go from the job and is no longer employed by them he would need a p45 or just call in and explain the situation to them if he hasn't got one yet.
