Chrome plugs alongside plastic light switches?

Probably a rhetorical question (also it's more design aesthetic than DIY) but here goes...

Say I have a wall with white plug socket, white TV aerial socket and white light-switch, and I just change the plug socket for a chrome effect will it look mismatched?

Is the norm to change everything to chrome in this case?

Then following on from this, do I need to change the whole house to match, or would having one room using chrome be standard? :pac:

I had my heart set on chrome plugs, but then realised it'd probably contrast with the white sockets/switches, so just curious what the approach would be for a professional look.

The chrome light switch might require an earth, which might not be available, depending on when the house was last wired.

Id be for all matching, within reason. For example, we have a kitchen/diner where the kitchen part has stainless steel switches and sockets, but the dining area has white. There are no light switches in the dining part though. If there was I'd want them all matching.

But yeah, in most cases, all matching.

It's a valid point re the earthing and one that was worth raising as most people wouldn't know that,
