So anyway... Decided to look online and book and collect with me voucher...

Basically most of the stuff I wanted online were on sale and 2 for 20...(ninjago, nerf guns).. Went to pay... NOT AVAILABLE FOR COLLECTION.
As we have birthday next week I headed off out to smiths Liffey Valley.. Non of that stuff was there, everything else was slightly dearer by about €2-3..
Used the voucher anyway..

Not giving out, but if yer looking for a double discount, order online this weekend and get it delivered sometime in the future.

Posting as you don't make the same mistake I did.

Went today to the shop as I needed to buy a €10 gift card, and as treat decided to let my 2 children choose something around the €6 mark each as to go just above €20 to qualify for €5 discount, after showing the voucher and asking for the discount I noticed that when I was going to pay I didn't get any discount, so I was told by the cashier to ask at customer service. It turns out that the discount is not applicable on gift cards and is only written almost at the end of the T&C.

I couldn't ask my kids to return the toys they choose at that stage so I ended up spending more than budgeted... Lesson learned, read the damn T&C every time.

Anyone having an issue with the voucher being applied at the checkout? Using the site I filled the basket up and applied but when I get to the payment the original price (without the discount) is the one I'm getting.

Edit: Never mind, see they have more exclusions than high society nightclub...

Thanks OP, went to Carrickmines Smyths , showed the voucher on my phone, saved a tenner. The woman ahead of me was doing her Christmas shopping, and used the voucher three times without issue.

Yup these kind of promotions are only ever to shift stock that's not shifting to make room for Christmas stock and as such you'll never get gift cards, digital currency (ps store/Xbox credit) or software which takes up miniscule shelf space in comparison.

Good deal if you have kids or are a lego fan.

I don't think i have ever seen any promotion like this for any store to ever include gift vouchers.

And it does state it quite clearly.
