No Eir Fibre, options?

Ok so I had joined Eir about 2 weeks ago. Put a bundle together and was waiting for installation this morning.

Anyway KN Networks arrive, spent 5 mins, and then came in and said no Fibre in my area. Eir made a mistake. I am too far from the Exchange.

Bit of a pain.,..... We use broadband for everything so need good connection. Also family used to 2XX with UPC before.

So really I am looking at my option. At the moment I am using a Vodafone R216 mobile device which does allow me to stream but it is patchy. I get 1 bar at 4g. Would going to B3500 on plan work?

I contacted Digiweb and they satellite. Packages here. http://www.digiweb.ie/satellite-broadband/#sthash.Sc8ReeUK.dpbs

Seems expensive but is it more reliable than 4g?

What other options are out there? I am based in Meath.

Imagine Fibreconnect if covered. Three €20/mo AYCE and a huawei router if not.

Don't go the satellite route as it's the worst option. Too limited, variable, slow and expensive for a modern user.

Check ED_E's suggestions and if not suitable, check this map and see if you are covered by any Wireless ISPs.

And check if you are on an exchange covered by eir's 2017-2020 FTTH rollout, before you sign any long term contracts.

Ostensibly up to 24mbps. In reality that could be anything between 6 and 18mbps. Thats been my experience anyway and I live in an urban area.
