    Hi all,

I am a recent graduate and in the process of looking for jobs both at home and abroad. Got an email from HR of a company asking if I was interested in a position based in UK. The email was accompanied by a document stating the job requirements and other information relevant to the position. This is exactly what the email mentioned -

    Good Afternoon!

If you're still interested in finding a job, we would like you to read a brief description of the vacancy in the attachment.
If you would like to hear more about the role, please contact.

    HR Manager
    Jessica D. Obrien
    ZIC HOLDINGS LLC

The email was sent from an id that ended with btctrading(dot)com

First and foremost, the email I received was sent at 9 am in the morning, and I believe it came from the UK so the Good afternoon bit is quite irrelevant and not on point. Even if it did come from the US, it still wouldn't make any sense. I've done some looking up and found out that the company is based in Texas, US. The website for zic holdings llc mentioned in the email seems to be expired (not a good impression to begin with :/). Anyway, I bit the bullet and shot an email back saying I was interested in the position and received this reply -

We appreciate your interest to the company, so could you kindly familiarize with the job Position Description.
If you are interested in this role, you should full fill the Application Form and then, within next 3 ( three) working days, our manger is going to contact you to proceed the recruitment procedure.

    Sincerely , Jessica D. Obrien
HR Department , ZIC HOLDINGS LLC

I've read both the emails and I can clearly tell this wasn't sent by a person whose first language is English, though the name suggests otherwise. I've had my doubts about the company and the job and I am not completely sold on this. I am desperately in need for a job and ready to take what comes my way, but at the same time I want to be cautious and I need some input from fellow board members who know anything about this company. Specifically, if people think the emails I've gotten so far are phony. I have yet to fill out the application form and send it on. Any input is appreciated.

    Thank you!

The fact that the "cover" e-mail didn't even name the position (or even you) is a huge red flag to me. I think it sounds really fishy and you should know much more about them before you send them all your personal details in an "application form". You are at grave risk of identity theft.

There was an attached word file that included the position being advertised. I sent an email back to them asking where in UK the job was for and didn't get a reply for that. Instead got two more documents, one being the application form. Got the feels that something wasn't right. Not going to be following up on this one. It's back to job hunting! Thank you for the input! :)
