anybody know how I go about getting it sorted?, have tax book etc, just a case of showing up to tax office with the log book to get it changed??

its well over 30yrs now and currently declared off road, thinking of taking it on the odd tractor run etc, and vintage tax is half the agri rate!

go in to the tax office and fill out a renewal form (RF100A).

    https://www.motortax.ie/OMT/pdf/RF100A_en.pdf

In the 'tax clas'category, specifiy the 'other' box as Vintage. You may also need the off the road declaration receipt, but they will have that on record on their system anyway. Once you are entitled to your vintage tax they won't refuse you, you just have to ask!

after you have got it on the vintage tax once, you can renew it online in the following years

thanks, got it sorted, had to fill out a 'change of particulars' form (RF111), similar to renewal form but it has an option to change the tax details, I needed to bring the brown tax book with me, tax class was also amended on it & stamped by tax office and that was it
