independent builders report

    Hi,
    writing this on behalf of my parents.
    they have just got an extension built on the back of their home and are quite unhappy with some of the results, a lot of work is also still incomplete.

    they are having huge trouble trying to get the builders back to complete.
    they would like to get an independent builder to come have a look around and write up a report (my folks wouldn't have the much experience with construction).
    basically they just want to know is the work sound and what needs to be done it make it so,so they can hand to the builders (or worse case get new people in)

    Would this be a case of them just ringing building companies and asking someone to come out or are they looking for an engineer/ surveyor?

    any recommendation/ advice on the issue would be appreciated

    (apologies if its a silly question)

    An architect, engineer or building surveyor is/are probably the people to consider.

    You need an Architect, Engineer or Surveyor.
    Did your parents not get someone to oversee the construction works as it was happening?
