    Hi,

Have a bit of a funny one and seeing has this happened anyone else?

I booked a weekend away for 2 nights through booking.com. I paid for the hotel upon check in and paid with my visa debit card. I checked that day that the money was removed from my account and it was. When I arrived home the money was back in my account and it has remained in my account for the past 2 weeks, basically showing that it would not have been paid, however I have heard nothing about this from the hotel. I'm afraid to touch the money incase they decide to take it and will leave me short.

Has this happened anybody else before?

What does it say for the amount that was credited back to you?

Have you contacted your bank? They can tell you why the transaction didn't go through, or why it was credited back to your account better than we can. They can also advise you of where you stand legally, vis a vis can the hotel attempt to take the payment a second time, if the first one was unsuccessful.
