    Would anybody have an idea? Cant find an answer online and halfords dont have a clue

    The mic on sony BT head units is in the headunit, i've had 2 in the past and both worked a treat.

    The higher end sony's have an external mic. Upon further research I dont think the model the op is looking at will accept one. On the sonys the port on the back of the headunit is red with mic written beside it.

    From pics of that head unit i see online it doesnt seem have that port.

    The sony mex n5000bt series and above have external mics.
