Hi is anyone familiar with the jd 224 over barrel suppressor.
Does it have a rear bush like the sonic?
What thread would be best to get for a 16mm barrel before being threaded?
Unlike reflex t8 suppressors I can find no technical information anywhere.
Informations and observations would be great.
    Thanks.

I have one on my 223 and find it very good. It does indeed have a rear bush (its plastic). They come in a variety of thread and have the ability to change threads if you ever change rifle through the use of a barrel nut. Below is all the available threads.

    230-1 - ½"x20 UNF
    230-2 - ½"x28 UNEF
    230-3 - 13x1
    230-4 - 14x1 6H
    230-4H - 14X1 4H
    230-5 - 14X1.5
    230-6 - 15X1
    230-7 - 16X1
    230-8 - 17X1
    230-10 - 5/8"X24
    230-11 - 12X1
    231-4 - 14X1 SPIGOT
    231-6 - 15X1 SPIGOT
    231-8 - ADAPTOR 17X1

For info try the following two sites

    http://www.ruag.co.uk/brand/24-hausken

Alternatively you can email either Hausken or ruag. Both are good at replying.

Thanks for that,i checked both sites buth neither have info on what thread for what diameter barrel etc.
I think reducing a 16.2 mm muzzle to 1/2 inch-12.5mm to fit a moderator is extreme.
    I don't know.
With a 6 mm bore and a 12.5 outside diameter would this not be a weak union.
Surely it would be better to leave barrel diameter as large as possible.
That's why I am asking for recommended mod for 16mm barrel .
    Thanks for your information .

M14x1 should work well with the 16mm barrel.
I left away the rear bush on my two JD224's

    Thanks for your information ,
I thought taking barrel down to 1/2 unf was not the best way to go.
That is good enough for me.

Tikka/Sako seem to use 14x1 on their 16mm barrels and they work well. The thread is better than the 1/2UNF as it is also finer. Just the UK gun plumbers who started with the coarse 1/2 and 5/8 UNF threads vs the US who have always had the finer 1/2 or 5/8 UNEF threads. Euro seem to push M14x1 , 15x1 and 18x1.
