In the above thread there is a slight history about a fraud (I assume) which a vodafone employee comitted on my wife's account.

The person applied a huge new contract to the account, dispatched a Galaxy 6 Edge to a different address and Vodafone attempted to credit us for the phone charge and ALL outstanding contracted cost.

It was totally random that at the time this was occurring I was purchasing my wife a new phone, with a view to leaving VF. We were using her most recent VF bill to facilitate the transfer to a new network when I noticed a "Handset" charge, considering that my wife had had the same phone for 3 years this was strange.

Queue many weeks of Vodafone insisting that we owed them €4,000 and that they were going to take it from her account, while we were in the middle of a mortgage application.
Finally they admitted that there was, indeed, a fraud and they credited the previously taken amount and "graciously" stated that they would not attempt to take the remaining funds.

Since then they have refused to engage as to how this happened or give me any information to take to the gardaí.

This may seem like it ended well with us not being on hock for €4,000 but their attitude during the entire process was heart breaking and threatening.

So, is this an issue to bring to my solicitor or the Gardaí? I am just sick of waiting for their engagement at this stage.

you need to make the complaint to the Gardai and they will get onto Vodafone for the details of the rep, if vodafone havnt taken action already that is.

employees details are protected by data protection (yes even when a law is broken) and you can only give out certain information to the Gardai.

ie you cant ring and complain about the person that did it and then i as his employer give you his name and address so you can go bate the shtie outta him or give his details to the cops.

go though the proper process and hopefully you will get sorted.

(ive not commented on the fact that it appears the Gardai might not charge as it seems to be resolved and it may be vodafone would have to make the claim not you, because im not sure who that would work.)
