Beds in Dublin

I need to get a new bed, King Size or maybe even Super King (of which there are a lot fewer to find).

I'd been saying I wanted a "really good" bed, cos the one I've slept on to date has been amazingly comfy, though it's actually from IKEA (but the particular line has been discontinued).

People keep telling me the best place to get a "really good" bed is Arnotts, but for a Super King they're looking for about 3k. That can't really be how much I need to pay, can it?! :-/ Has anyone bought one of the top end IKEA beds lately and how would you rate it?

Going top-of-the-IKEA line will only hit me about 1k. I was imagining paying up to 1.5k, but dunno if for that price I'm gonna be getting a ****tier bed from the likes of Arnotts.

Any advice? Of course I want to go into a shop and have a go lying down, definitely won't order online without being able to try out.

But I have experience of buying a single bed which i had a lay down on in the shop and it felt grand, but once you actually sleep on it for a few hours it's not that comfy at all. So would love the advice of people who've actually been sleeping on their new bed for a few months and can recommend it. Do I really need to spend three grand?? :-/

    Let us know when:D

on a serious note, consider the weight of the mattress for such a bed, both for getting into the house and turning ever 3 or 6 months or so.
we bought a bed with a frame in McGowns in Swords that had two mattresses and a "topper" to cover the gap.
It was about 1,500 euro and its a dream, however the mattresses are still heavy, even as singles.
We paid 40 for delivery and assembly, best job I ever avoided...

    Have to go now

EZ Living have a good range of bedsteads and a really broad range f mattresses. I found it very useful, for spare rooms, to be able to buy the display versions at massive markdowns.

Thanks for the quick reply! Have you other Andromeda frames in stock that we could take a look, and a super King mattress we could try out if we came this weekend?

Also, I can see there's a little 'lip' on the frame, sticking out from the mattress; could you give me the total width of the frame, ie 6ft + X ??
