Are some official dealers better than others?

Are some official dealers better than others?
Im asking as im considering an upgrade, a different model from the same manufacturer but not sure if i want to purchase from the same garage.

I bought from an official dealer for the manufacturer, but ive found them difficult to deal with at times. Not awful, but not great all the same.

Basically, has anyone experience of purchasing from multiple dealers and found one considerably better than the others?

    Yes.

Best to mention the brand and you may get some meaningful recommendations.

Sinnots in Wicklow have a very good reputation for customer care.

I notice that whenever I leave my Octy into Skoda (Ryan Motor Power,Clonmel) I inevitably get a call a few days later from a survey crowd asking for my satisfaction rating.

I don't know if this is the case with other makes, but it would seem Skoda are interested in measuring the customer experience.

we are a two skoda household and bought through different dealers new. Pilsen and AN Other ... the comparison is like chalk and cheese .. Pilsen have been very good to deal with, car is just 5 years old and over 250,000km on the clock and no complaints with them .... outside of normal servicing i've only had some cosmetic damage to deal with.

My wife's motor is just over two years and the dealer in question dropped the ball big time leaving her stranded on the side of the motorway late one night. A warning light came on advising her to get to service station ASAP .. dealer didn't have a time slot for her for a week and told her to drive the nuts out of it as it was a DPF issue .. turns out it wasn't and car stopped dead on the motorway the following day.

On the plus side Skoda Assist were excellent .. had the car towed and rental car from airport sorted within an hour, car was left with the dealer and it still took them over a week to look at it .. at least skoda had arranged the rental car.

There's nothing stopping you dealing exclusively with Pilsen for both cars though is there? As long as they're a Skoda main dealer that's all that matters.

Galvin's do it too. Got it by a text link last night which is way handier than listening to the spiel from the uninterested call centre worker.

OP, like everything else in life there's good set ups and poor set ups. I don't think brand makes much of a difference tbh.

There isn't .. Apart from me working very close to Pilsen and my missus being based close to the other dealer 50 miles away.

What I'm doing for the next service is driving her car to work and getting Pilsen to look after it.

I'd recommend Spirit Motors in Sandyford - have bought a number of cars off them and they were willing to do deals with no messing around

What do you mean by better?

Will one dealer give you better prices than other? Yes
Will the service staff be better trained at particular place? Yes
Will the staff be more friendly and accomodating dealing with your issues should they come? Yes

To sum up - yes. There are better and worse places...

You can advise your dealer that you do not want to be on the survey list. And yes the call centre worker Is uninterested.
