Dublin Bus Strike - Alternative commuting plans

With Dublin Bus strikes now confirmed for September the 8th, 9th, 15th, 16th, 23rd and 24th, there is going to be a lot of people inconvenienced by this disruption (including myself for the first 5 dates). With that in mind I hope this thread will succeed in getting people to get together to offer car pooling, band together for taxis or offer suggestions to people on how to get to and from work on these days.

My own position is that I can either take the day off, get a taxi or obtain a lift from someone. I really don't want to take any days off as I work on a contract basis with no paid holiday days, so no work, no pay.

I would happily get together with 3 (or 5 others if a people carrier taxi) and that way the cost can be greatly minimised. There must be similar people in my position as quite a lot of people get on the bus at my stop (Lucan Road, Ballyowen lane on the N4 - stop 2236).

Would/could you cycle to work? The weather is rarely an issue but it looks like it's going to be very good this week.
