Hi...quite new to posting on boards but hoping somebody can advise... Was hoping to bring partner to Germany next year and hopefully get an Audi factory tour... Anybody been to the one in Audi factory close to Brussels? Brussels seems very convenient travelling from Ireland... Thanks!

Im pretty sure Brussels is only a production site. The A1 family is built there and the next Q3 will be built there too. For a proper factory tour visit either Neckarsulm or Ingolstadt. Both of these have Audi Forums but the Ingolstadt site is the home of audi and also has the museum tour beside it. Better cars in Neckarsulm and probably the better factory tour but the better overall experience in Ingolstadt and its easier to get to (45 mins from munich airport)

Thanks for your reply and your information. I suppose I was veering towards Brussels so we could enjoy weekend there also but maybe there is the option of doing the likes in Munich. It's probably better to go to the bigger factory... For the full experience! Thanks 😊ðŸ‘

My son went to Munich last year and did a tour of the BMW Museum.
He can't wait to get back there again.

Seems the appropriate place to ask -- my 12 year old is mad into cars, particularly supercars. Any other factory/museum/car-related attractions worldwide worth going to? I've read mixed reviews on some Ferrari attractions in Italy.

The Autostadt (VW) in Wolfsburg is excellent.

The volkswagen factory tour in Germany plus the autostadt next to it is a must. If even just from a mega-factories,how it's made point of view the place is HUGE.

I was based in Frankfurt when I visited it. Took maybe 3 hours on the (high speed) train each way! Train was handy as it literally stops a few minutes walk from the museum / factory.

Wolfsburg is a fine town to stay in also, there's a massive shopping centre there for the OH (or yourself ) and a decent football team too.

There is also a Mercedes museum in Stuttgart. If you can only do one I think the Mercedes is the one to opt for but both have fine displays of cars etc. Nice city centre, pedestrianised shopping and green areas from what I can remember.

The display that sticks out in my mind is each incarnation of the 911 Turbo on revolving platforms side by side (5 cars I think)

BMW tour and museum is good, but how about something different like the ring taxi? more of an experience.

Thanks for the replies to my query. A holiday is almost forming - nurburgring, porsche and mercedes in Stuttgart, and Europa Park which I've had my eye on for a while, all in the same quadrant of Germany (yeah, I know it's a big place, but throw in some A-bahn driving and I can't turn this down!)
