Hi lads, hard to pick up ewe lambs around my neck of the woods, hoping to go up the country & see a mart in ballinrobe on Saturday, worth a 2 hr trip?

Only was at it once or twice, but good mart. You sure it is going on a Saturday?

Its usually on Friday or Wednesday depends on what your buying. Tuam or headford or athenry aren't too far away if your willing to come up that far

Usual mart is on Weds, but this time of year there's a sheep mart on Fridays too. The only Saturday sale I know of that's coming up is the 2nd Mayo Mule and greyface sale on Saturday 10th Sept and the Mayo blackface sale on Sat 24th Sept.

Headford is a Saturday mart alright.

There would be very little mules in headford . mainly Suffolk sheep. Maam cross is also on Saturday at 11 if you wanted some mountainy ewes

Definately a good idea this time of year for sheep. I should add that I am biased.

There will be loads of tickets for the match, for Mayo supporters just don't expect them to appear until Thursday of next week earliest. Then they will keep appearing until 5 minutes before match. All you need to do for next week is to tell everyone you know (or barely know) that you are looking and to repeat every few days. Also tell everyone that if you find a spare that you will give it to them. it does not matter that you will have promised same ticket to 500 people.

Every Mayo supporter who wants to go to the match and makes an effort to find a ticket will get one. Of course there will be an unfortunate few who will end up with Hill 16 tickets and will have to put up with slagging before during and after the match.
