    Hi just wondering how difficult would it be to get into the garda dog unit?
    Also do they get any extra pay?
    What are the requirements?

    As far as I know it's like any specialised unit. You must do your 3years as a beat guard before progressing laterally into different units. Each unit has its own tailored entry process and requirements, I have heard though that it is very tough to get in to due to the amount of people applying each time. There is also additional allowances like other units along side your normal wage
