FS: New - Campagnola Zonda Clincher Wheelset – Shimano compatible

I purchased these, and they are arriving today. I suddenly realise I don’t have a current need for them, whereas I do currently need cash.

The cheapest I can see them online is €330 with swimcyclerun. How about €290?

They can be collected Dublin city centre, and business hours are preferable as I’m getting them delivered to work.

Don’t have pictures yet, but you know what they look like dammit!

Please let me know if you have any questions.

    Cheers,

    offer €260

Thanks for the offer, but a little low perhaps?

Could we meet in the middle at €275?

    Cheers,

Just a quick postscript to say that the brand new wheel set turned out to be used!

    Apologies to everyone, especially derealbadger.

They were allegedly brand new when I bought them, and had obviously been well used as they were dirty and had substantial rim wear.

I was pretty annoyed to be honest, but in fairness the online retailer was very prompt in accepting responsibility and will cover the purchase and return shipping costs. As the purchase was partly paid for by a voucher I can still get something nice.

    Again, apologies all. :(

So you bought a set of wheels from an online seller believing they were brand new (as you'd expect) and they sent you used wheels that they didn't even bother to clean first? That's absolutely despicable! How does something like that happen? Did they think you wouldn't notice?

Yep. Happened to me once before a few years ago, I got a used item instead of new (non-cycling stuff).

To be fair to the retailers (both this time and before) they offered a refund straight away and were apologetic, so I think it was a genuine mistake, as they could not possibly think I would not notice, because the dirt and wear was very obvious.

On a separate occasion I got a pair of Zondas online and there was large scratch on the front rim and a rattle from inside the rim when the wheel turned. It was diagnosed as a loose spoke nipple inside the rim. Again the retailer was very quick to offer redress.

So I can feel aggrieved that I was sent a wrongly described item, or happy that they set it right so quickly. I certainly wasn't feeling too chipper when the box was opened, but I'm trying to take a glass half-full interpretation. :)

Can you tell them you want a new set of Zondas as ordered?

Yes, I could, but to be honest I got a bit carried away as I had a voucher and put extra towards the wheels. At this stage of the year I probably shouldn't be buying a new set of wheels anyway.

It actually works out better in a way, as I can get a refund for the wheels and then just use the voucher value rather than putting extra cash towards what was a bit of an indulgence.
