All hospitals have data protection policies. Most companies have patient confidentiality clauses in their contracts.
Does the medical council or specific consultant professional bodies have rules or guidelines around communicating with patients? Appropriate medium, where & when, who may participate?

If you look for the medical councils guide to professional conduct and ethics you'll find several parts of it referring to communicate with patients. As to what specifically you're hoping for, I don't know.
